Statistics Without Borders, more simply known as SWB (https://swb.wildapricot.org/) is a volunteer outreach program that offers pro-bono statistical consulting to government agencies and organization, especially in developing nations that do not have the resources necessary for these statistic services. SWB aims to promote using statistics as a way to improve the well-being and health of everyone. Some of the projects included areas of emergency and disaster management, child welfare, animal welfare, humanitarian aid, and the health services and education of girls in many developing countries.

USA

There are over 800 volunteers across 6 continents. While this is an outreach group of the American Statistical Association, you do not need to be a member of the ASA or even American to volunteer here. You do need to have a knowledge of statistics or a related field to be a volunteer. This organization does not offer any statistical training.

The benefit of participating in this project is that you can have a major impact on the health and well-being of people in other locations. These are places that don’t have the necessary resources to complete these types of projects, which are important to improving these developing countries and the lives of those who live there.

The time commitment is based on the project that you take on. Some projects have different deadlines than others, so you just need to be sure that you have the ability to complete the task as required.

Statistics Without Borders is a volunteer outreach organization that was established in 2008. Since then, they have had many projects, especially focusing on projects that involve human rights issues to improve the world.
