Rape, Abuse, & Incest National Network, commonly known as RAINN (https://www.rainn.org/) is an organization that is known for supporting survivors of sexual assault. This is the nation’s largest anti-sexual violence organization. RAINN operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline, both online and over the phone.
To be a volunteer at RAINN, you need to complete a training course facilitated by the organization as well as passing a background check. You also need to be sure that you are on time for your shifts. You are expected to offer the much-needed support that survivors of sexual assault and their families need during this difficult time. You must be over the age of 18 and have a US SSN (Social Security Number).
The benefit of volunteering with RAINN is that you are offering the emotional support and guidance that people need after experiencing a sexual assault. You are giving them a safe space when they need it the most.
To volunteer with RAINN, you need to commit to at least 18 months as a volunteer and 10 hours of direct service on the RAINN Online Hotline every month.
RAINN is more than just an organization that offers support to survivors. RAINN also focuses on improving public policy and educating the public about these sensitive topics. This is an important organization that serves the community to help people recognize the signs of sexual abuse, strengthen laws, and help governments and businesses change policies to help prevent sexual violence.
