IntoBooks (https://cricketmedia.com/meet-crickettogether) is a unique mentoring opportunity where adult mentors and students read the same books, then discuss them online. This organization is part of the ePals program. The goal is to engage the students in whatever they are reading, which can ultimately have a positive impact on their academic achievements.
Volunteers should have a love of reading because this passion will inspire your students to also love reading. You can either participate as a mentor or as a sponsor of the program.
The benefit of volunteering is to help these students achieve higher level of success in school. This can encourage their literacy growth and inspire a love of learning. You can make a difference in the life of these students by participating in this program.
The time commitment is a minimum of 2 or 3 hours every month, which can be done on a schedule that works best for you
This program was created out of the need for more youth mentorships to help students perform better academically. The problem is that sometimes people didn’t have the time to do traditional mentoring programs, which is why an e-mentoring opportunity like this can be such a great opportunity. With only a small time commitment and the ability to have a flexible schedule that works for you, IntoBooks gives you the opportunity to have a significant impact on the lives of these students. Typically the students in this program are between the grades of 3 and 5. This is a growing community of mentors that have come together to achieve the goals of this organization.
